Cristina is a multi-hyphenate writer, director and producer,  who is known for developing character-based stories with strong narrative arcs, and creating series with universal themes that resonate with global audiences. Leading our diverse  creative team, she brings two decades of experience and her unique perspective and passion for bringing inspiring and  impactful stories to the screen.  

For much of her career, Cristina has explored the intertwining worlds of humans and animals through the unique lens of a childhood growing up at Zoo Miami, one of the world’s first cage-free zoos, that was founded by her father — a visionary in the conservation world.

Cristina’s credits include Creator, Executive Producer and Director of Earthkeepers, a  documentary series for Disney+ with Supper Club (Chef’s Table) also executive producing. She served as Writer, Producer, 2nd unit director on At the Fork, a documentary feature that explores how animals are raised for food in the United States. Distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Films, the film premiered at the 2017 Berlin Film Festival Culinary Cinema, and was executive produced by John Mackey, Founder and CEO of Whole Foods Market and Dave Matthews.  

As Creator and Executive Producer of the documentary mini-series Ivory Wars for Animal Planet / Discovery International, Cristina also launched the non-profit Elephant Protection Trust that currently supports 100+ anti-poaching rangers who protect 500,000 acres of critical habitat for endangered African elephants, cheetahs, Grévy’s zebra and African painted dogs.  

Best known for the award-winning and critically acclaimed documentary feature film One Lucky Elephant, Cristina served as Co-Writer, Producer and was the primary Director and Cinematographer for the first eight years of production. Represented by Submarine Entertainment, the film was acquired by the Oprah Winfrey Network after its premiere at the 2012 Los Angeles Film Festival.  

Cristina has also directed and produced several branded content short format documentaries for various high-profile global NGOs and their corporate partners, including Canopy and Stella McCartney, with productions in Sumatra, Kenya and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, including the behind-the-scenes-journey of rapper and spoken word artist Prince Ea that led to his viral Dear Future Generations: Sorry video that she co-produced and to date has over 200+ million views. She also collaborated on the Kenya based production of Poacher, a powerful short film set in the world of aerial anti-poaching units.  

For Rio+20 Earth Day, Cristina directed and produced the short documentary When A Tree Stands that premiered at the first global REDD+ Talks event, a follow-up to the Code REDD multimedia experience she created and designed utilizing a blend of film and projection mapping technology with partners from Obscura Digital for the Rio+ 20 United Nations Climate Conference.  

Cristina began her career in film working in various roles on major motion pictures, refining her skills as a storyteller working as Carrie Fisher’s story editor for over four years on films including Outbreak, The Wedding Singer and The Mirror Has Two Faces.   

Cristina holds a double B.A. in Motion Pictures and English Literature from the University of Miami, and is an Advisory Council Member for Gorilla Doctors and an elected Art Directors Guild Artists Council Member. Originally from Miami, Cristina lives in Los Angeles with her life partner, a front-line physician, and their three-legged Giant Schnauzer.
